“Robin has been extremely helpful in supporting me as I navigated anxiety and learn how to cope with worst-case scenario thinking. She has helped me develop practical coping strategies that allow me to interrupt anxious thought patterns and prevent spiraling. She also incorporates somatic and body-based work, which has been incredibly useful and has helped me better understand nervous system regulation. In addition, she has been instrumental in helping me navigate my relationships, especially friendships, and in developing a healthier nervous system regulation. In addition, she has been instrumental in helping me navigate my relationships, especially friendships, and in showing me a healthier, more grounded way. I couldn’t recommend her more highly. ”

Getting to know Robin Kaye

Robin is passionate about supporting adults of all ages navigating daily stressors, life-altering transitions, interpersonal challenges, and relationship issues. With a nonjudgmental approach, Robin fosters a therapeutic relationship where the bond itself becomes the foundation for healing and growth. Holding a Master's in Counseling from Northwestern University and an additional Master's from New York University, Robin combines strong academic training with practical experience. Using a collaborative approach, Robin helps clients identify and address the thoughts and behaviors that may be holding them back from reaching their full potential. By uncovering patterns-both conscious and unconscious-Robin empowers clients to develop effective coping strategies for managing overwhelming emotions, fostering healing, and enhancing resilience.

What should a new client know about working with you?

After receiving a master's degree in education from NYU, Robin went on to teach elementary school in the New York City public schools. Following an enriching teaching career, Robin took time off to be a stay-at-home mother to her two children. Navigating her children’s learning difference diagnoses inspired her to pursue a degree from Bank Street College of Education, specializing in Studies in Education. While working with children experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties, Robin realized her passion extended beyond the classroom to helping families navigate parenting complexities. She went on to earn a master’s degree in counseling from Northwestern University. Her background in creating emotionally responsive classrooms and fostering healthy parent-child relationships gives her a unique understanding of attachment and its lifelong impact, which deeply informs her counseling approach.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Robin uses an integrative approach to treatment, customizing her methods to address each individual’s specific circumstances. Robin incorporates psychodynamic, attachment-based, and mindfulness techniques into her practice. She has also completed training in Humanistic Neuro-Linguistic Psychology (HNLP), a modality focused on reprogramming the nervous system's automatic responses through neuroplasticity and evidence-based sensory acuity. Robin integrates these approaches into her treatment to support her clients effectively.

I had a really positive experience working with Robin from the first session. She created a space that felt safe, supportive, and non-judgmental, which made it much easier to open up about difficult topics. She is thoughtful, attentive, and able to balance listening with offering helpful insights and practical tools that I could actually use outside of sessions. I never felt rushed or misunderstood. Over time, I noticed real progress in how I understood myself and how I handled things. I never felt rushed or misunderstood. I would highly recommend Robin to anyone looking for a compassionate and skilled therapist.
Robin has completely transformed my perspective on therapy and its impact. For most of my life, I was strongly opposed to the idea of therapy—skeptical about whether sitting and talking to a stranger could offer any real benefit. I even believed and told her on day one that most counselors and mental health professionals were “quacks”, given my past experiences. Well, Robin changed all of that and proved me wrong. She has single-handedly made me a believer in therapy and turned me into a lifelong client. Robin has a way to get someone truly comfortable (I’m not an easy client, it took my spouse nearly 8 years to convince me to try it), and she goes above and beyond to show genuine care for the well-being of others. Her compassion and dedication are unmatched. Finding a trustworthy therapist can be challenging, but if you’re considering therapy—especially for the first time—I wholeheartedly recommend Robin above anyone else.

Robin is an incredible therapist—compassionate, insightful, and truly supportive. I’ve grown so much through our work together and feel better equipped to handle life’s challenges. Highly recommend!
Robin’s kindness and care feels incredibly authentic and relatable. She is a true gem of a therapist. I have been struggling with relationship concerns and the way she helps me work through these issues is so validating. She helps me figure out where my thoughts are coming from, and encourages me to confront and appreciate my true feelings. I feel so seen and understood by Robin!!
Robin is an exceptionally gifted therapist — I’ve tried several before finding her. She’s caring, warm, and honest. I had some sensitivities and she didn’t gloss over it; instead, she took the time to reflect, research, and return the following week with genuine insight and a wealth of knowledge. That really helped me move forward. Nothing about working with Robin feels transactional. She shows up with a deep, authentic care for what’s going on with me and it’s clear that she’s fully invested in my healing. I’m grateful for her. If you’re ready to do the real work and truly heal, Robin is the therapist for you. She’s simply incredible.
I have been to other therapists over the years and Robin stands out as the only one I have truly been able to connect with. Her compassions and insights make me feel seen, understood and most importantly hopeful. I look forward to our sessions as a safe place to “dig deep” and would truly recommend her to anyone on a healing journey with the goals of self love and acceptance. Life is hard and I am grateful for Robin and her care.
Working with Robin has been a truly transformative experience for me. From the very first session, I felt heard, understood, and supported. It was a safe, non-judgmental space where I could share even my most vulnerable thoughts without hesitation. What I appreciate most is how Robin strikes a perfect balance between being compassionate and offering actionable guidance. Her insights have helped me gain clarity on issues I’ve struggled with for years. I’ve come away from every session feeling empowered and more in control of my emotions. Thanks to Robin, I’ve grown in ways I didn’t think were possible. If you’re considering therapy, I can’t recommend Robin Kaye enough.
Robin is warm and attentive, and she offers incredibly helpful insights. She is truly a gifted therapist and my time spent with her has been invaluable.
I’ve been doing therapy sessions with Robin for almost 2 years, and I can confidently recommend her to anyone looking to improve their coping strategies and other mental health struggles. She is always professional yet personable.
I've seen many therapists over the years and Robin has been by far the best. She comes to every session prepared, invested, and with tactical advice on how best to work through a problem. She has helped me improve my relationships, show up as parent, and unlock my full potential at work etc. I am proud to say that I have never been happier. I credit a lot of my current situation to Robin and our regular meetings. If you're genuine about wanting to work on yourself, I would highly recommend seeing Robin.
Working with Robin has been life changing. As soon as we started working together, I was immediately put at ease and felt like I was in a warm, reassuring place, with no judgement. I leave sessions feeling like I have goals and objectives and always feel like she is listening with sincerity and wants to do her best to help.
Robin is so easy to talk to and makes me feel safe, supported, heard and understood. She is genuine, intuitive, empathetic and non-judgmental and her insight has helped me find perspective as I navigate through a particularly difficult time. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking professional support.
Robin is compassionate and very easy to connect with. During my divorce, she played a crucial role in helping me navigate through the process, how to support my children and the complex feelings that I was experiencing. I always felt understood and supported by her, as she empathized with my situation and provided valuable guidance during this tough phase of my life.
Robin is caring and empathetic. I felt quite comfortable and safe on our first appointment. She listens and is very helpful with the issues I struggle with. I am so grateful I found her
When I first met with Robin I was pleasantly surprised to feel an instant connection. Her warmth and sincerity made me feel immediately safe. When I speak with her, I feel no judgment only understanding.. not only has she helped me work through a few situations also made me understand my decisions and feel good about them.
Robin is simply wonderful. She’s easy to talk to and always puts me at ease. Her kindness and empathy matches her unparalleled professionalism. Always a pleasure being in her calming presence. 10/10 would recommend.
Robin has been my therapist for a little over a year. She is fantastic. She’s very patient but most importantly, very human. I’ve carried with me the breath work we worked on and her words in more instances than I can count. It helped me incrementally with everything from my intimacy anxiety to the heart wrenching passing of my grandma this year. I’d say, look beyond race and gender when considering Robin. She’s a gem.
Robin is truely a blessing for me. She’s very kind and understanding. She’s always available for a session even if it’s last minute. I learned a lot about myself and was able to make the changes I need in my life because of her. I am so happy she’s my therapist she is truly incredible
It took many years to find someone that really listens but also offers suggestions rather than just sit there . highly recommend .!!
Closing the visit, I took with me practical and adaptable insights and tools. I found these encouraging. Robin was pleasant, reassuring, and perceptive. Overall, the visit was not intimidating, which I truly appreciate.
I can’t recommend Robin enough. She’s an exceptional listener, offering thoughtful insights and clear direction that truly resonate with me. Her calming presence and intuitive nature create a safe, judgment-free space where I feel completely comfortable opening up. She holds me accountable in a supportive way, helping me make meaningful changes in my life. I deeply value our sessions and look forward to continuing this journey with her.
Robin Kay was excellent . It took a long time to find someone who really listens while also offering suggestions that i listened too and that really work. Highly recommend !
Transitioning to a new therapist–a new person– to talk to was worrisome at the beginning but Robin Kaye made our sessions very welcoming and it quickly became a safe place for me to open up. Robin is very accommodating and has worked with me throughout our sessions to understand who I am as an individual and how to best support ME. I did receive outpatient treatment elsewhere and felt misunderstood and misrepresented within that care. I returned to my sessions with Robin where it is individualized for what works best for me. Robin works with you and allows you to be very vocal in your care– your voice is most important to her!
This was my first time speaking with a therapist and I can say I was a little nervous. Robin made me feel so comfortable our first meeting, it felt like we have met before. We talked and so much came out in our first meeting that I didn’t realize was going on with me I couldn’t believe it. It’s been over a year I’ve been seeing Robin and will continue to see her. Robin has helped me through the toughest time in my life that I didn’t think I was going to make it which was losing my mom. She’s someone I feel I can talk to and feel at ease when I do.
