Getting to know Robin Stone

Welcome! ***Please be aware that this practice IS NOT IN-NETWORK FOR INSURANCE. We provide a Superbill that you can submit to insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. SELF-PAY/OUT-OF-NETWORK BENEFITS ONLY*** At Muse & Grace Mental Health Counseling Services, we provide culturally conscious, multimodal approaches to mental health and wellness. We address issues such as trauma, stress, anxiety, grief and loss, depression, relationship support, and enrichment. Our goal is to promote transformation, healing, and growth for individuals, couples, and groups through psychotherapeutic interventions and artistic expression. With a thoughtful, client-centered approach, I help people navigate life’s challenges and transitions with clarity and resilience. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University, and at our practice, we support a diverse range of clients—many moving through pivotal moments in their lives, careers, and relationships. My clinical work draws on psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapies, couples frameworks, and creative arts techniques to support understanding, healing and growth. In addition to therapy, we also provide wellness coaching and lead interactive workshops on relationships, leadership, self-care, and processing grief and loss. ***In many cases, our services are insurance reimbursable out-of-network (check with your provider--or we can check for you). We also take your financial situation into account when setting a generous sliding-scale fee. We aim to help you access affordable treatment. Depending on availability, you may be referred to a clinician on my team. All clinicians are informed by rigorous training and my particular approach to supporting clients. Know that I personally review and consult with every clinician about each of our clients.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You'll find an affirming space, a sympathetic ear, insight and constructive questions to help you relate to and navigate your world. We'll identify and use your strengths to respond in healthy ways to life stressors such as relationship and work conflict, trauma, grief and loss, insecurity and change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our approach to psychotherapy is not about what’s “wrong” with you, but about what’s happened to you to shape your life and inform how you see the world. A typical session will include a series of questions and discussion to help understand you your experience, your history, your perspective and any challenges that you are facing. We'll then explore areas for growth and the best interventions to help you do so. I see therapy as "healthy conversations," where you share your story and we join forces to help you recast the narrative so you move forward healing and whole.
