Saborah Holmes, LPC

Psychotherapist
VA
I have been in the mental health field for more than 20 years, working with people from diverse backgrounds, needs, and goals. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from East Tennessee State University, which has provided a strong foundation for my practice. I am interested in working with anyone who has the courage to commit to change and personal growth. Most of my experience has been with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, mood instability, and trauma. Together, we address life, relationship, work, and family issues. To me, the most important aspect of treatment is forming a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe to discuss deeply personal struggles and difficulties, enabling movement and growth.

Getting to know Saborah Holmes

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to treatment will involve working on a therapeutic alliance where you feel comfortable and protected to be able to share your personal experiences and thoughts. We will work together to see how your thoughts, behaviors, and feelings may be affecting your overall wellness and personal satisfaction in life. We will examine your strengths and personal obstacles to your overall mental well-being. We will devise a plan to achieve your goals and continually evaluate together how well you are doing in meeting your goals. Overall, the most important part is our therapeutic relationship. To help you determine if we may be able to form that relationship, I would like to inform you a few things about myself. I am a mother of three children, three cats, and a bird that I gave into my son to get. I am from a very small rural town. While I love small town life, I have always loved travel and meeting and working with people from many different backgrounds and cultures. Two of the most important steps in therapy is deciding to commit to the process and to find a therapist with whom you can work. I hope this information helps you make a decision of whether we could work together.
