What should a new client know about working with you?

I’ve been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 20 years, helping individuals, children, and families work toward healing and growth. My goal is to meet you where you are and support you in reaching your goals — at your pace, in your own way. You’ve already taken a big first step by being here! My style is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and relational. That means I combine proven therapeutic tools with a focus on connection, trust, and understanding. I draw from several approaches, including MBCT, CBT, DBT, ACT, CBT-Insomnia, Trauma based interventions and Mindful Eating, so we can find what fits best for you and your life right now. I work with clients of all ages and life stages. Many people come to me to reduce anxiety, improve mood and relationships, or cope with grief and major life changes. Whatever brings you to therapy, we’ll focus on helping you feel more grounded, resilient, and in control. Clients often tell me I’m easy to talk to. I adapt my approach — whether you prefer a gentle, reflective space or a more direct and goal-oriented one. I like to check in regularly on your goals and progress so you always feel supported and involved in your growth. I was drawn to this work after seeing firsthand how mental health and addiction can impact families. From an early age, I knew I wanted to help others navigate those challenges. I’ve always been fascinated by how our brains, emotions, and bodies work together — and I love sharing that knowledge to help clients understand themselves better. We’ll define your goals together and use practical tools, worksheets, and resources to help you stay on track. I’m flexible — as life changes, so can your goals. My goal is to help you feel supported, capable, and confident every step of the way. Our first session is a chance to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what’s been working (and what hasn’t), and what you hope to change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Going through therapy with a therapist can be a very beneficial experience for individuals who want to work through their mental health challenges and improve their overall well-being. Here are some steps you can take to make the most of your therapy experience: - Find the right therapist: The first step is to find a therapist who is a good fit for you. Look for someone who specializes in the type of issues you want to address and whose style matches your preferences. I hope I can be that person for you. - Set clear goals: It's important to have clear goals for therapy so that you and I are on the same page. In our first session, we will discuss your goals and work together to create a treatment plan that outlines the steps you will take to achieve those goals. - Try to be open and honest with me about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I am here to help you, and I can only do so if I have a clear understanding of what's going on. - Trust the process: Therapy can be a long process, and it's important to trust that the work you're doing with me will pay off in the end. It's also important to be patient and not expect instant results. - Practice self-care: In addition to attending therapy sessions, it's important to practice self-care on a regular basis. This may include activities such as exercise, meditation, or spending time with loved ones. - Keep an open mind: Finally, it's important to keep an open mind and be willing to try new things. As your therapist, I may suggest different techniques or approaches that you haven't tried before, and it's important to be receptive to these suggestions. Remember, therapy is a collaborative process between you and me, so be sure to communicate your thoughts and concerns along the way. With the right mindset and a willingness to work, therapy can be a transformative experience that helps you achieve your goals and improve your quality of life.
