What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is collaborative and client-led. I believe the client is the expert on their own life, so our work begins with understanding what feels important to you and what you hope to gain from therapy. I tend to approach therapy with curiosity rather than judgment. Together, we'll explore the thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationship patterns that may be contributing to your current challenges. Some clients come looking for practical tools and coping strategies, while others are more interested in understanding themselves on a deeper level. Most often, our work includes both. Clients often describe me as straightforward and genuine. I believe therapy can be a place for honesty, reflection, and even humor, while still making space for difficult conversations and meaningful exploration.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first few sessions, I focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We'll talk about your current concerns, relevant life experiences, and any goals you may have for our work together. As we develop a clearer picture of your experiences, we'll begin identifying patterns that may be contributing to distress or getting in the way of the life you want to be living. Depending on your needs, our work may include building practical skills, exploring underlying beliefs and experiences, or developing greater awareness of emotional and behavioral patterns. I draw from a variety of approaches, including CBT, DBT, ACT, and psychodynamic therapy, and tailor the process to each individual. Throughout our work, I aim to create a space where you can be curious, honest, and engaged in understanding yourself more fully.
