Feeling sad and tearful, or overly anxious and overwhelmed? With compassion, I'm here to help you process those emotions and arrive at a life balance. My approach I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help you identify and reshape unwanted thoughts and behaviors. I incorporate mindfulness and other positive psychology methods as well. Together, following a thorough assessment, we develop and implement a plan to help you reach your goals. My focus I work with teens and adults who experience life's challenges, whether it's a result of a specific trauma, or general feelings of self-doubt, depression, or relationship issues. My communication style With an empathetic and nonjudgmental ear, I actively listen to you. When you're lost or at an impasse, I gently guide you to a solution. On the other hand, I provide feedback, including positive feedback, when you reach an insight. My journey to mental healthcare Since I was an adolescent, I felt a deep sense of compassion whenever my friends spoke to me of their struggles. This expanded to a sense of caring for the suffering endured by all people, and a desire to help. I have dedicated my life to finding ways to assist individuals finding the path to wellness. My goals for you Together, I will work with you to establish your goals so that your plan is tailored to your situation. I will sometimes give assignments so that you work between sessions to accelerate your progress. My first session with you The initial session is an opportunity to get to know me and to feel comfortable speaking openly with me. During the first session, I will ask what prompted you to seek therapy at this time. I will attempt to identify what are the main challenges or areas you would like to address are, and what your goals are.
