What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm comfortable with silence, which is a useful tool that I wish more clients would take advantage of . I find silence to be helpful when stuck. Acknowledging that you're stuck and then sitting with it for a moment. Very helpful. I wish more people would do it! You're welcome to try it out in the room. It is certainly not something we would get away with in most other social contexts.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We usually start with an intake. From there, we settle into weekly sessions where we find a few goals that you would like to work on, and then either dive into goal-oriented work weekly with those or explorations of the matter of your week, depending on which is more pressing. I check in regularly about what's working and what's not, because I think therapy should evolve with you, not follow a rigid script.
