“Working with Sarah has changed my life and the way I see my future. I run a large company and thought most of the my stress had to do with being an entrepreneur. Sarah has helped me zoom out and see how my approach to relationships and mindless coping strategies have a clear impact on stress. We have systematically impacted the way, put her strategies in place and I am growing tremendously.”

Getting to know Sarah Dumoff

I help individuals and couples work through major life transitions in their work, personal lives and inner world. Most people who come into my office are looking for someone to help them through relationship challenges, family dynamics, chronic illness, pregnancy and new parenthood and career stressors. Having worked in consulting prior to my career as a therapist, I have a unique appreciation for the stressors associated with rigorous careers and maintaining a sustainable work-life balance. Truthfully, most people are truthfully seeking more passion and purpose in their lives and want to cultivate a little bit more ease day to day. I draw upon a variety of modalities including CBT, IFS within a goal-oriented framework. I aim to create an empathetic, comfortable environment for my clients to explore their challenges and experiences, increase their awareness and insight, all in an effort to promote positive and lasting change. I am a New York State licensed psychotherapist practicing in Manhattan & Brooklyn. I received my Masters from New York University, completed postgraduate training at the Nalanda Institute for Contemplative Psychotherapy and have been certified in IFS Level 1. Whether you are new to therapy or you’re looking for an alternative perspective, I understand how daunting this process can feel. _______________________ PLEASE NOTE!! Working with Sarah has changed my life and the way I see my future. I run a large company and thought most of the my stress had to do with being an entrepreneur. Sarah has helped me zoom out and see how my approach to relationships and mindless coping strategies have a clear impact on stress. Sarah has been my therapist for years and what sets her apart from other therapist's I've seen in the past is her ability to truly see me and understand me. She is engaged, so dedicated and cares deeply. She remembers every detail and helps give me concrete skills to use in my daily life. 10/10!
Sarah is a seasoned professional and incredibly attuned. I am not typically in tune with my feeling and I intellectualized my experiences. Saeah has helped me gain confidence in my emotional understanding of self and helped me reduce my anxiety and increase my self-awareness - connecting my mind & body.
Sarah gets. She is sharp, asks the right questions and has helped me challenge my own beliefs about myself that hold me back at work and in my relationships I look forward to our sessions and have been a massive shift in my own quality of life since working together.
Sarah has been a massive help to me through a bunch of wild rough patches and gave me the tools to deal with life as it comes. I’m so lucky to have her guidance and support!
Sarah is kind, understanding and made me feel 100% comfortable through my first experience in therapy. I immediately felt that I was in a safe place and that I could speak up and be heard. I look forward to our sessions each week and feel like I'm making good progress already. I definitely recommend!

I booked an appointment with Sarah because I was looking for someone relatable. She was extremely professional and made me feel comfortable addressing all of the concerns I initially made the appointment for. She helped navigate the problems in an organized way, and definitely helped me feel less overwhelmed about everything that was going on at the time.
I was going through a really tough time in my life and decided it was time to make an appointment with a therapist. I was nervous to attend therapy, but Sarah was extremely warm and encouraging and made me feel comfortable from the second we began the session. I will be continuing weekly appointments and would highly recommend Sarah as a therapist.
Sarah was great and so professional. She really took the time to understand what I needed and helped me understand the process of therapy. This was my first time attending therapy and she did a great job of making me feel comfortable and at ease with the whole process. I will be continuing with sessions.
I had a ton of anxiety before seeing Sarah- as I was transitioning from a new job into a different field. She helped me navigate and cope with the stress I was going through, and I was able to go through the transition with a whole new mindset. It was great how she broke down little issues and gave me small tasks to overcome and help the anxiety.
I was very hesitant in seeing a therapist, as I wasn't too convinced I was going to feel better, and felt I might feel more anxiety talking about things out loud. Sarah helped me break down what was really going on and where it was stemming from, and gave my different activities that helped alleviate a lot of the stress I was going through. She was direct with her approach and offered a lot of feedback, which I found extremely helpful.
