“I highly recommend Dr. Eckfeldt as a therapist. She is incredibly empathic and caring, creating a safe and welcoming space for exploring my childhood history. Through our sessions, Dr. Eckfeldt helped me understand how my past influenced my work, friendships, and dating life as an adult. She thoughtfully questioned my approach to relationships, guiding me to recognize the qualities necessary for a long-term partnership. Her insights were transformative, and I left our time together with a clearer sense of self and a healthier approach to dating. Thanks to her guidance, I met my now husband, and we are now proud parents of our first child. Dr. Eckfeldt truly listened and provided meaningful, actionable advice. Thank you!”

Getting to know Sarah Eckfeldt

I work with adults who are feeling stuck or unsure of themselves, especially during major life transitions or when old ways of coping stop working. My approach is warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative. We’ll explore what’s beneath the surface at your pace, uncover the patterns that may be holding you back, and help you reconnect with a stronger sense of self. Therapy is more than just talking. It’s a space to get curious about what’s happening beneath the surface. Together, we’ll explore the experiences, relationships, and patterns that shape how you think, feel, and respond in your day to day. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or stuck in patterns they can’t quite name. You don’t need to have the “right” words, just a sense that something isn’t working. That’s a valid starting point. I don’t sit silently and nod, I am engaged, curious, and reflective. Together, we’ll explore what’s underneath the surface, connect the dots between past and present, and build a stronger sense of who you are and what you need.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is grounded in empathy and insight. I offer a compassionate, supportive space where you’ll feel heard & understood, & together we’ll uncover the emotional patterns that no longer serve you. My approach is relational and insightful, blending emotional exploration with practical tools to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

I've worked with Sarah for years! I would recommend her to anyone struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, or family issues.
Sarah is an excellent psychotherapist and provided support at a time where I truly needed it. She is always very attentive during our sessions, and she offers a welcoming and judgement-free environment. Sarah offers a very honest approach and challenges me to sincerely think about a given situation, and she is excellent at incorporating our previous conversations where she finds a connection. Even in my most vulnerable times, Sarah's professionalism and demeanor allows me to open up and find space with the things that I need to comprehend and accept. I cannot recommend her enough.
As I went from college into early adulthood, Sarah Eckfeldt was an invaluable guide through it all. I come from a background where discussing emotions wasn’t the norm and Sarah provided a safe space for me to open up and to trust. She was exceptional at helping me recognize my life patterns and focusing me on what was important; the things I could change. Throughout our sessions, I shared my deepest thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. Sarah's support has been instrumental in shaping the person I am today. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking understanding and growth both in general or during a transitional period of life.
I began seeing Sarah to discuss an acute issue I was having in my relationship. I thought therapy was useful for solving specific problems and once those problems were resolved, I would stop. That was nearly seven years ago, and I still look forward to our sessions every week. Over that time, Sarah has helped me enforce boundaries in my personal life, improve my relationships with a number of friends and partners, and helped me better understand my stressors. She is always professional, always prompt, and always communicates clearly. My mental health, relationships and attitude toward life have all improved since I started seeing Sarah.
I've been seeing Sarah Eckfeldt for over five years and have found her to be an excellent therapist, both for navigating big life stressors and for improving my day-to-day quality of life. She does this with a combination of emotional introspection, discussing past experiences with an eye towards getting to the roots of certain issues, and with specific, practical solutions to implement in the short term. I still use many of the tips she has given me over the years, and I've seen dramatic improvements in my thinking patterns and my ability to handle difficult situations. Sarah has a great sense of what I need as a patient, and I've always felt very supported by her. I'd highly recommend her to anyone, including people who have never been to therapy before, and those who have been going for years, her expertise will be beneficial regardless!
