What should a new client know about working with you?

I incorporate ideas and interventions from various modalities, including Gestalt Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), to help you navigate relationships, process emotions, and better understand your inner world. At the heart of our work together is my belief that every person has the capacity to create meaningful change in their life, even when that possibility may feel out of reach. My role is to guide and support you through that process, helping you foster resilience, acceptance, and confidence in yourself. Together, we will examine your unique experiences and needs, and work toward changes that matter most to you. My goal is to provide a safe space where you can openly explore and express yourself without fear of judgment. I prioritize building a trusting relationship where you feel comfortable being honest and bringing all of your parts into our space. Your perspectives and feedback are always welcome, including when it comes to our work together!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Together, we will reflect on your past experiences and the parts of yourself that emerged from them, while making space to understand how they connect to your present self. Much of our work will involve sitting with emotions and thoughts that may feel uncomfortable or deeply activating. But, we will do so at a pace that feels manageable and works within your window of tolerance. I will be alongside you throughout the process offering grounding and support whenever you need it. We will start slowly as we get to know one another and develop trust. I’m genuinely interested in learning about who you are as a person, including your hobbies, music taste, and little quirks! Gradually our sessions may start to feel more intense, but this is a natural part of the therapeutic process. You can expect to be challenged at times, but never without compassion or intention. Therapy is ultimately meant to serve you, and our work together can evolve as your circumstances and needs change. We can adjust along the way to ensure that our process continues to feel relevant and helpful to you. Therapy is collaborative and your voice is essential!
