Getting to know Sarah Parsell

The therapeutic journey equips us to navigate our relationship with our bodies, emotions, experiences, and interpersonal connections, addressing deep sources of pain and fear that can often arise merely from existing in this world. With a Master’s in Counseling from Spring Arbor University, I draw on CBT, IFS, and Somatic lenses to help you understand yourself and your challenges deeply on all levels. Together, we can invoke acceptance, understanding, and the most difficult of all—change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I hold space for you as an autonomous being with expertise in your life. Together with my expertise in this field, we’ll partner up to comprehensively explore you and your needs. This journey can include psycho-education, somatic techniques, and skills in regulating, coping, mindfulness, and relationships, as well as other aspects of personal growth or diagnosis management.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session begins with getting a sense of your story, your supports, and your symptoms. I practice a combination of talk therapy and somatic therapy, teaching you how to become holistically attuned to both your internal and external signals in order to understand yourself (past and present) in new ways that encourage understanding, compassion, and regulation.

Words cannot fully describe how incredible Sarah is. Throughout my treatment, she has made me feel seen and heard every single time. She has helped me better regulate my nervous system, breakdown irrational OCD thought patterns and release shame. This has allowed me to grow a lot personally and show up for the people I love in the way they deserve Sarah is compassionate, honest and a breath of fresh air into my life. She guides my sessions well by remembering my goals and continues to (kindly) challenge my thought processes in order to help me grow in the ways that are important to me. I am grateful to have found a knowledgeable provider who cares so deeply about her clients. I would recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a therapist who helps them find more peace in their mind and grow into the best version of themselves.
I truly cannot put into words how incredible Sarah is. As a woman in my mid-20s navigating the challenges of growing up, I’ve been on a journey of unlearning, learning, self-discovery, and self-love. Sarah has been the most compassionate and insightful guide through it all. Sarah remembers the stories I share, the triggers I experience, and she recognizes the patterns in my life—then gently helps me explore their roots. She asks thoughtful, targeted questions and skillfully brings our conversations back to center if I wander off track, without ever making me feel rushed or dismissed. She is kind, friendly, warm, and very easy to talk to. She validates my experiences while still challenging certain thoughts or beliefs, encouraging me to look deeper into my feelings. I always leave our sessions feeling understood, supported, and empowered to grow. I recommend Sarah wholeheartedly. If you’re ready to take an active role in your healing, Sarah will be an invaluable ally on your journey.
Sarah is a fantastic therapist!
Sarah is a fantastic therapist!
Honestly I was a little hesitant to talk to someone but Sarah made me feel so comfortable immediately. She put all my nerves at ease. I have a very chaotic job job and unfortunately things come up at the last minute and Sarah is always willing to reschedule if she is able to and I genuinely appreciate it. We laugh almost every session. It doesn't feel like I'm in session, more like I'm chatting with friend who's main intent is to remind me to be nicer to myself and treat myself with the same kindness and grace I teat others with.
She creates a very safe feeling environment. She is very easy to talk to and is very good at helping you validate your feelings as well as working on ways to ease some of the feelings you have and find ways to help manage what you're feeling inside.
Sarah is very knowledgeable on Polyvagal ( Somantics) and IFS! She is encouraging, insightful and walks you through everything. Sarah has a warm presence and you can just feel she really cares. She helps you feel seen and validated while aiding you to use your own insights and tools. I highly recommend her if you’re looking for someone that will help you understand your body, trauma and emotional regulation more!
I felt incredibly comfortable with Sarah. She is kind, a great listener and makes you feel like you’ve known her forever, which makes it easier to open up to her.

Sarah is by far the best therapist I’ve worked with. Couldn’t recommend more. She is calm and soothing when you need it, and will call you out on your BS when you need that. 10/10

Sarah is an absolute force. She has been instrumental in helping me find myself and being my guide through some decidedly tough times, without so much as skipping a beat. She's shown me I've been in a tunnel, not a hole. And that feeling is immeasurable. Absolute gem of a human. Thank you Sarah
I was really nervous to start therapy again as it has been so long, but she was very nice and comforting and I cannot wait to talk to her again in my next appointment

Sarah has been a tremendous resource over the last year. She is professional but personable and helped me navigate anxiety and stress management. Sarah is approachable and made me feel comfortable with what we talked about. She also was open to feedback when I needed to be pushed. Sarah was flexible with scheduling and was able to accommodate in person and telehealth appointments.
Sarah is hands down one of the best therapists I’ve ever had. She got me through some of the most pivotal times in my life with the most care & also tough love. Her perspective, questions, and true genuine care for her patients is what kept me coming back to her for YEARS! I’ve always said the hardest part about therapy is finding the right therapist and she is absolutely the right one!! I couldn’t recommend this woman enough!!
Sarah Parsell was a wonderful therapist. I would always look forward to seeing her every week. I think she did a great job helping me with my healing and especially since she is so young. I appreciate all that she has done for me, ty!
Sarah is the most understanding, open, and easy-to-speak-to therapist I have ever come across. I can be my full authentic self with her and I never receive judgment. Finding a therapist whether it be your first one, your second one due to personal preferences, or your third one due to insurance changes- is not a fun task. Sarah gives you such a safe space to enter from your computer every week and always comes as her best self, regardless of what kind of challenges you might be facing. She has really helped me tackle my negative self-talk talk, regulate my emotions, and given me the tools to disprove my irrational beliefs. Online therapy can be daunting, but Sarah is a hidden treasure!!!
Sarah has been an amazing addition to my life over the past few years. She has helped me grow in times of uncertainty and distress, and she has celebrated with me as goals have been accomplished. She has been a true asset to me becoming the better version of myself that I am today. I couldn’t ask for anyone better!
We meet via iPad. Sarah is very helpful. A exceptional listener. I was nervous a first but she put me at ease right away. I look forward to my appointments.
Sarah has been such a great help with my mental health! It’s been over a year of our sessions and I know my family has also noticed big differences in my mood/attitude towards life!
She has helped overcome a lot of things that have happened in my life. A very caring person that offers great healing advice!
