Psychotherapist
NJ
Sarah Roffe, LCSW, CCLS, is a co-founder and therapist at Kind Minds Therapy. Sarah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Child Life Specialist with thirteen years of experience working directly with children and families in a hospital setting. Sarah also has a background working in trauma, specifically with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, and holds a post graduate Certificate in Clinical Adolescence from New York University. Sarah studied psychology at Indiana University and received her masters degree from Columbia University. She completed her Child Life therapy certification at Yale New Haven’s Children’s Hospital. In addition to providing psychotherapy in private practice, Sarah also works as a pediatric nephrology social worker, where she provides individual play therapy, expressive arts therapy, and supportive counseling to patients and their families in both the inpatient and outpatient hospital setting. Sarah has a passion for working with children and their families. After many years as a child life specialist, Sarah decided to return for her masters degree, in the hopes of combining the two disciplines to best meet the needs of children and their families. Sarah believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to have someone outside of their world to bear witness to the daily struggles of life, help them hold onto hope when needed, and become their own best advocates. Sarah believes that through talk, play, and creative arts comes hope, comfort, and a strong sense of self. It is her belief that we as humans do not have a lot of choice in the things that happen to us, but we can control who we surround ourselves with and the moments that can fill us with joy. Let’s work together and choose joy!
