Sarah Scott, LCP

Psychologist
CA
My name is Dr. Scott, and I have been practicing individual therapy for about 8 years. My experience centers on brief interventions and supporting clients through difficult transitions. I believe therapy is about planting seeds and helping clients build the toolset they need to grow. I earned my PsyD from Alliant International University, which provided a strong foundation in mental health alongside my earlier education in nursing with a minor in mental health. This background gives me a deep understanding of the biological components that contribute to our overall health and mental well-being, as well as how mental health treatment can improve quality of life. My approach primarily utilizes a humanistic perspective within a bio-psycho-social model, focusing on the person as a whole. I seek to work with clients who want supportive therapy through difficult transitions or to process day-to-day stressors related to family roles, job pressures, and general life changes-these are my specialties. In sessions, my goal is to provide support, structure, and sometimes re-direction or a new perspective. I may challenge clients to reflect on areas they struggle with and consider their own role in certain situations, which can be challenging but often leads to growth. I focus on the client's goals, integrating clinical feedback as appropriate, and regularly explore progress toward those goals during sessions. Our first session typically includes reviewing confidentiality limits, discussing your expectations, and identifying your main concerns and goals.
