Getting to know Sarah Ward

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe therapy is a collaboration and my role is as a guide who helps you find clarity and heal. I take a whole-person approach to therapy that includes the mind, body, and spirit. For some clients, this means we spend most of our sessions talking. We focus on insight, mindfulness, or self-compassion. For others, we spend most of our sessions on body awareness and healing movements. For most clients, we switch between these tools from session to session.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Before all first sessions I will reach out for a brief consultation call to ensure we're a good fit. When you sign up for a session time the expectation is that this will be an ongoing weekly appointment, for at least the first 6-8 weeks. If you are interested in meeting less regularly after that we can reevaluate at that time. This is to allow us to form a good working relationship and gain momentum in the healing process.
