Hi there, I'm Scott! Hello, I am Dr. Scott Bennett. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Seattle Pacific University and have been a psychologist for many years, practicing in Washington, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, North Dakota, and now Idaho. I work with adults, adolescents, and children. My approach I enjoy creative approaches to therapy and expect my clients to work harder at improving their lives than I do at helping them. Psychology has far-reaching applications beyond the therapist's office and shows up in every aspect of our lives. My focus I have seen nearly every type of client over the years, working with depression, anxiety, personality issues, family problems, personal matters, and typical psychological concerns. Since moving to Idaho, I have worked extensively with LDS clients, who have cultural issues requiring specialized expertise. My communication style I have a calm and gentle style, which helps clients feel less stressed or anxious. This is not just because it works well in therapy but because it?s my natural personality. I enjoy humor and believe it helps us cope with life's seriousness and tragedies. My journey to mental healthcare Like many psychologists, I became interested in the field by trying to understand my own life?why myself, my family, and society find ourselves in certain situations and how we can improve life for all. I am still figuring life out and see myself as a fellow traveler with my clients. My goals for you My clients and I set weekly goals, applying them to daily life and following up until we accomplish them. My first session with you Therapy works better when we slow down and take things one step at a time. In our first session, I expect honesty, openness, and effort.
