I believe that as human beings, we are all born with a natural drive to connect with others in meaningful, caring relationships. Yet, we each experience this drive in unique ways, shaped by our biology, social environment, and sometimes, life’s painful challenges. Whether it's through attachment, human development, or neurological factors, I approach therapy by integrating person-centered approaches, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed practices with the goal of helping clients feel safe, empowered, and less alone. When I work with parents, adolescents, or young adults, I understand that they have often been navigating difficult circumstances—whether it’s tough relationships, traumatic events, or toxic environments—on their own. By the time we meet, many have been carrying their burdens alone, feeling misunderstood, and unsure if life can improve. My goal is to ensure that you never feel alone in our sessions. I believe in a collaborative process where we explore your experiences together, set goals, and develop actionable steps toward the future you envision. My passion for counseling was sparked by witnessing friends, neighbors, and family members struggle with mental health challenges in our rural Idaho town, where resources were scarce. This inspired me to pursue my BA at Linfield College, followed by fighting forest fires (my occupational ADHD phase!), and later earning my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Montana. After working in schools and a college counseling center, I found my love for learning continued, and earned a PhD in Counseling, Counselor Education, and Supervision from Idaho State University. I’ve been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for over 20 years and have had the privilege of training and supervising master's students and professionals for more than 19 years.
