You are not broken. You adapted. One of the greatest misunderstandings in mental health is the belief that symptoms are the problem. I see them differently. Anxiety. Hypervigilance. Emotional numbness. People-pleasing. Perfectionism. Anger. Difficulty trusting others. These aren't character flaws or evidence that you're broken. More often, they're survival strategies developed in response to experiences that overwhelmed your ability to cope. As a trauma therapist, I believe healing begins with understanding. When we understand the story behind our symptoms, we stop asking, "What's wrong with me?" and begin asking, "What happened to me, and how did I survive it?" That shift changes everything. Using EMDR, trauma-informed therapy, psychoeducation, and evidence-based interventions, I help clients understand how trauma reshapes the nervous system, relationships, beliefs, and identity. Together, we'll explore the origins of your patterns—not to keep you stuck in the past, but to help your brain and body recognize that the strategies that once kept you alive may no longer be necessary. My approach is collaborative, direct, and deeply compassionate. I believe people deserve more than symptom management. They deserve an explanation that helps them make sense of their lives without shame. I don't believe healing is about becoming someone new. I believe healing is about finally understanding the person you've always been beneath the adaptations.
