Psychologist
CA
Hi there, I'm Shannon! I'm a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years of experience helping people feel better and gain personal growth. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University and hold a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. My approach centers on making a real connection and creating a safe, respectful, warm, and compassionate space to understand the problem(s), find the solution, and develop effective coping strategies. I treat a variety of issues, with a focus on anxiety, depression, relationship issues, codependence, stress, self-esteem, and social anxiety. My approach I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on the specific problem. The most common theoretical approaches I use in my work are CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, MBCT, and Humanistic. My focus Anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, low self-esteem, social anxiety, and codependence are experienced by people of all ages and walks of life. I work with adults and provide individual and couples therapy. My communication style I know that your struggles can be hard to talk about. You may have told your "story" to countless professionals and feel frustrated with the thought of telling yet another, or maybe you can't imagine sharing your thoughts, feelings, or experiences with a "stranger." I strive to make our conversations easy, comfortable, and safe, with a feeling of relief and hope that you are on the path to real change. My goals for you Goals are important. They point us in the direction we want to go and keep us on task. Goals can change over time-they can be achieved, modified, or both. I believe it is crucial for both the client and therapist to establish initial goals and reassess them at intervals. Goals are brought to treatment by the client, but collaboration with the therapist often helps clarify and develop them further.
