Getting to know Shawn Patterson
Shawn Patterson is a Mental Health Counselor with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Mercy College and a Bachelor of Arts from The College of New Rochelle.
He completed a nine-month internship and practicum at the AHRC Counseling Center, where he worked closely with individuals experiencing anxiety and stress. This experience, combined with regular case consultations with seasoned therapists, helped him develop a well-rounded and compassionate approach to therapy.
His goal is to help people heal from the emotional impact of stress and trauma and to support them in rediscovering their strength, clarity, and sense of self. Shawn practices Person-Centered Therapy—a non-directive, empathetic approach that empowers clients to lead the way in their own healing. He believes that the foundation of effective therapy is trust, and he strives to create a space where clients feel truly heard, respected, and empowered.

I am in network with most Blue Cross Blue Shield (Anthem) plans as well as Magnacare. For other insurances I offer an out of network reduced rate plan to keep costs affordable. With this system your out of pocket costs will be limited to $50-$100 at most per session when working toward your deductible. I will submit all claims on your behalf, keeping the process nice and easy for you!
