My name is Shideh Sarmadi, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. My goal is to support and empower you in making positive changes in your life by focusing on healing, personal growth, and improving the ways you cope with life’s challenges.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with individuals, couples, and families, and I have experience helping people navigate a wide range of concerns, including relationship and marital issues, blended family dynamics, parenting and co-parenting, mood disorders, adjustment difficulties, and substance use concerns. I also pay close attention to cultural influences, as they often play an important role in how we experience and respond to challenges. With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, including 15 years in outpatient therapy, I have worked with infants, children, adolescents, and adults in both individual and group settings. My bilingual background also allows me to connect with and support clients from many different cultural backgrounds and life experiences.

I believe therapy works best when we focus on building healthier coping skills, strengthening relationships, and creating meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
