Getting to know Dr. Simon Miller

I am Dr. Miller (he/him), a licensed psychologist (Ph.D.) providing telehealth therapy to adults. My goal is to create a supportive, collaborative relationship in which you feel heard and empowered to reach your goals. I blend evidence-based approaches like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy with mindfulness and practical strategies to address your concerns. I am warm and compassionate, and often use a bit of gentle humor. You can expect honest feedback and personalized guidance every step of the way.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have extensive experience working with diverse clients, including people of color, immigrants, first-generation Americans, and individuals from various faith and cultural backgrounds. I am culturally sensitive and liberation-focused: together we will explore how your identity (including race, culture, and spirituality) interacts with your experiences. My aim is to help you feel affirmed and understood, even when facing personal or systemic challenges. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and relationship issues for adult individuals and couples. I also help clients through major life transitions (such as career changes, new parenthood, or retirement) and identity development. Whether you are dealing with grief, chronic illness, or questions of belonging, I tailor therapy to your unique needs. Using a client-centered, integrative approach, I help you identify strengths, develop coping skills, and create new, healthier patterns for positive change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first appointment will serve as an initial consultation with Dr. Miller where you both can better understand if working together would be a match. If that's not the case, Dr. Miller can also provide you with resources based on your needs, if possible. If you have Aetna, Dr. Miller will send you a link before your first appointment together where you can verify your insurance benefits.

It was so hard to find a good therapist and I almost loss faith constantly trying to explain my situation to each new therapist until I met Dr. Miller. He is a great listener and makes it easy for me to open up. Im able to share things with him that I can't with my family and friends. Im truly grateful to have Dr. Miller as my therapist and now I feel optimistic about my future and ability to address my problems.
Dr. Miller was a very attentive therapist. He listens attentively and was able to advise me on practical tools to support my personal mental health needs. I do find the sessions effective as I continue on my personal growth journey. I would recommend for mental health treatment.
Working with Dr. Miller has been an incredibly positive experience. Although I was hesitant to work with a male-identifying therapist, Dr. Miller created a warm and inviting space from our very first session, where I feel comfortable and at ease opening up. He listens without judgment, which makes it so easy to talk to him about anything. He has a very genuine and caring presence and amazing skills, which makes every conversation feel both insightful and empowering. He clearly tailors each session to my needs, offering thoughtful guidance that always feels just right. He is approachable and compassionate, so I trusted him wholeheartedly. If you’re looking for a therapist who makes you feel seen, heard, and supported, I recommend Dr. Miller without any reservations.
