I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York. My experience comes from providing direct mental health counseling for children, teens, and young adults with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, low self-esteem, assertiveness, boundary setting, and emotional intelligence.
My experience is varied across multiple settings. I have provided individual, family, and group therapy in school settings, college counseling centers, church and community settings, and private practice. I have learned that we are greater than the sum of our parts; and that the things we have gone through do not define us. When put together, those things make us the unique individuals that we are. We all come from different backgrounds with specific hardship that has shaped us into the person that we are today. I will strive to treat the therapeutic relationship and you with honor, respect, compassion, and warmth.
My therapeutic approach is eclectic. I draw my influence from Rogerian (Person-Centered) Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I believe that the client is the expert of their lives and my role in the therapeutic relationship is the provide a safe space for honest self-exploration. However, my top priority is to meet you where you are and work collaboratively to meet your goals. Whether you are working towards enlightenment or to improve functioning, I will tailor your treatment to meet your unique and specific needs.
