Getting to know Stephanie Caceres

I am a passionate and empathetic Bilingual Licensed Mental Health and Addiction Counselor, fluent in both English and Spanish. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Hofstra University. I have experience working with adults facing a wide variety of issues and diagnoses. My training and practice include treating clients with culture-related concerns, identity challenges, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, life transitions, trauma, substance and alcohol abuse, work/life balance, and relational issues.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I truly believe that we all deserve to be cared for and understood, with no judgement, no matter what your past and present is. I believe that you deserve to be heard, feel safe and be happy. You are important, you matter, you are enough, you are capable... I am warm, holistic, and compassionate. I predominately use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), alongside other methods of treatment to tailor the need of the client. I help clients identify goals they’d like to work on to address habits and change behaviors so that they feel more capable and in control.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the first session I will complete an intake assessment to gather as much information to better assess and get to know you, your history, and what concerns have brought you to therapy and therefore set up goals. The following sessions, we will engage in talk therapy while pulling from various modalities to help you achieve your goals. Our sessions are 45 min in length on a weekly basis. Please allow 15 minutes before the session to do the intake paperwork. I PROVIDE PSYCHOTHERAPY SERVICES ONLY; PLEASE NOTE I DON’T PROVIDE MEDICATION MANAGEMENT SERVICES.
