I remember my first search for a counselor. I was stepping onto a fork in my path that I was very uncertain of. It was scary, and somehow I knew it was necessary. I searched, made a few calls, and connected with one who helped me redesign myself mentally and emotionally. After some years, I felt drawn to do my best to help guide people on the path they choose to walk with more clarity and understanding. Many of us struggle with disturbing memories, traumatic events, and some form of dysfunction growing up—all of which shape our worldviews and push us into who we are. Then one day, possibly, we desire something different. I am a Christian and relatively versed in scripture, but I don’t preach, and I do my best not to judge because in doing so, I would likely be condemning myself. I also study Native American spirituality and teachings. I have had a very full life of bitter and sweet events and periods of time. My personal experience is vast, and my professional training includes EMDR, Level 2 Gottman and trauma and Gottman affairs training, *The Body Keeps the Score*, and much more training that pertains to trauma and being human. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Boise State University. For the past 15 years, I have worked with couples, Veterans, men, and women. I do not work with minors. I live in the mountains, swim most days, ride horses, and enjoy shooting, sitting in the outdoors, sweat lodge and cold plunging, and all six of my kids, ranging from 35 to 15, and my grandkids.
