At some point, life can begin to feel heavier than it should. Anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, life transitions, or simply trying to keep everything together can leave you feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from the life you want to live. You don't have to navigate that alone. I'm Stephanie Staggs, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and EMDR-trained therapist. I work with adolescents, adults, and couples, helping clients move through life's challenges with compassion, honesty, and practical support. My areas of focus include anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship concerns, OCD and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), life transitions, self-esteem, and stress management. I believe therapy should feel like a conversation—not an interrogation. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. Together, we'll identify the patterns keeping you stuck, build practical tools you can use outside of session, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. At Perfectly Imperfect LLC, we believe healing isn't about becoming perfect—it's about becoming more authentically yourself. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices while recognizing that every person brings a unique story and set of strengths into the therapy room. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or simply know something needs to change, I'm here to help you move forward with clarity, confidence, and hope. Real conversations can lead to real change, and I'd be honored to walk alongside you in that process.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a balance of compassion and honesty. I believe in creating a safe environment where you can be yourself while also gently challenging the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Therapy isn't about someone telling you how to live your life—it's about helping you better understand yourself, process difficult experiences, and develop the confidence and skills to create the life you want. I tailor treatment to each individual because no two people have the same experiences or needs. Depending on your goals, I may incorporate approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and other evidence-based interventions. My clients often describe me as approachable, genuine, and easy to talk to. You don't have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. You simply need a willingness to begin.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll discuss what brought you to therapy, explore your current concerns, review your history, and identify the goals that are most important to you. Together, we'll create a treatment plan that fits your unique needs and preferences. As therapy progresses, sessions are collaborative and goal-oriented. We'll work to better understand your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences while developing practical strategies you can apply in everyday life. I believe it's important that therapy not only feels supportive during our sessions but also helps you build lasting skills between appointments. Throughout our work together, we'll regularly review your progress, adjust goals as needed, and celebrate meaningful growth along the way. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling understood, equipped with new insights or tools, and confident that you're moving toward the life you want to create.

More information on payments and coverage

At Perfectly Imperfect LLC, we believe accessing quality mental health care should be as simple and transparent as possible. We accept a variety of insurance plans, and coverage may vary depending on your individual policy and benefits. We encourage patients to verify their mental health benefits with their insurance provider prior to their appointment. For services not covered by insurance, or for clients choosing private pay, payment is due at the time of service. We accept major credit and debit cards, as well as HSA and FSA cards when applicable. Our team is committed to helping you understand your financial responsibilities before treatment begins. If you have questions about insurance coverage, copays, deductibles, or self-pay options, we'll gladly review the information available to us and help you understand what to expect. We believe financial questions shouldn't be a barrier to seeking support, and we strive to make the process as straightforward and stress-free as possible.
