Psychotherapist

I focus on adults to help them actualize their innate qualities of goodness and wholeness. I support people who are overwhelmed with stress, anxiety, or depression, in order to help them learn to transform their life challenges into opportunities for healing and growth. Individuals will learn to recognize behaviors and thoughts that keep them stuck and are provided with tools to help them process difficult emotions and connect and communicate more effectively and lovingly. Through establishing a caring therapeutic relationship clients can become more confident and secure within themselves. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 30 years of experience working in both residential treatment programs and more recently since 2013 in private practice providing outpatient counseling. I completed my Bachelors Degree at Temple University and my Masters of Arts Degree in Counseling at Central Michigan University in 2008. I have experience working with families, groups, and individuals. I offer an eclectic approach to therapy. I utilize a variety of theories and treatment methods, including cognitive behavioral therapy, brief solution-focused, person centered, and structural family therapy. I aim to provide a comfortable, safe, and accepting environment for you. Counseling is a healing process which depends on one’s willingness to engage with the counselor in openness. Healing happens at different rates and for different reasons for everyone. It often is not a simple answer or solution. Therefore, counseling is most effective when sessions are attended on a regular basis over a period of time. As progress is maintained, we will meet less often to prepare for the conclusion of counseling. I really enjoy providing counseling. It is an honor to be a part of my client's journey. One of my goals in providing therapy is to normalize discussing mental health issues. Everyone has struggled or will struggle with mental health at some point.
