Sudie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for helping clients achieve the insight, practical skills, and healing necessary to become the people God designed them to be. Her desire is to see lives transformed and lived with hope. Sudie earned her BA in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina, and over the years enjoyed being a teacher and raising a family with a bit of entrepreneurial spirit on the side. Following her heart for people and God’s leading, she pursued an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University and later obtained a certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Haden Institute. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. Sudie brings many practical and professional skills to the counseling session through a multitude of techniques and experiences. Her goal is to create a safe environment where clients can grow in self-awareness and then participate in an enhanced lifestyle of personal, relational and spiritual health. With a team of women, Sudie began the Charlottesville chapter of Community Bible Study, an international group for women and children, where she served as teaching director. She and her husband were active in Young Life, a ministry to high school and middle school students for over twenty years. They were instrumental in bringing Young Life Capernaum, an outreach to teens with physical and intellectual disabilities, to Charlottesville. Sudie has been married for over fifty years to Raleigh. They have three adult children, and five grandchildren. Residing in Charlottesville, Sudie is an avid sports fan, enjoys gardening, walks with her husband and dog, watching the birds, and spending time at the beach.
