Hello, I'm Susan. With over 30 years of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about helping others navigate life's challenges. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, with a master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, focusing on Substance Abuse. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware. My journey began with a focus on substance abuse disorders, but over time, I expanded my practice to include working with adolescents facing behavioral issues, women, codependency, and eating disorders, among other areas. I believe that life can be tough for all of us, and sometimes we find ourselves stuck. A good counselor helps us get unstuck. My approach is both sensitive and real, offering compassionate and honest guidance to help you move forward on your journey. I strive to provide feedback that is rooted in wisdom and insight, drawing from my extensive experience in the field. I specialize in a range of areas, including addiction, adolescent and teen mental and behavioral health, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, family relationships, grief and bereavement, intimate and romantic relationships, life transitions, PTSD, stress, and trauma. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth for those who prefer remote sessions. Working with me means you'll receive support that is both empathetic and practical. I am here to listen, understand, and help you find the best path forward. It is a privilege to assist my clients in overcoming their challenges and achieving their goals. If you're ready to take the next step, I invite you to reach out. Let's work together to help you get unstuck and move towards a more fulfilling life.
