Hello, I am Dr. Tamela Evans, a licensed professional counselor. I began my professional endeavors in service to others. While serving in the United States Air Force Reserve, I started counseling fellow airmen and staff in career progression, benefits, and retirement. I completed a Master's in Professional Counseling at Old Dominion University in 2011, formally pursuing a career in counseling. I later earned a PhD in Education from Georgia Southern University in 2019. Since 2008, I have worked with a diverse population of clients and communities. I specialize in crisis services, substance and alcohol use, depression, and co-occurring disorders. I am well versed in a number of theoretical approaches and counseling techniques, as well as the nuances of various cultures; however, I utilize an open and genuine approach of inquiry and support for the clients I work with.
