Getting to know Tamica Northcutt

The provider is a Resident in Counseling. I have been working in the mental health field in various capacities since 2012. In my previous employment with Loudoun County as a Mental Health Case Manager, I worked primarily with individuals who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness. I also worked with those identified as having a substance use disorder.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Using a person-centered approach, I worked with individuals to identify their needs and areas where they may require support and assist them in getting linked to local resources. This included linking to resources for medical or behavioral health care as well as trying to assist in locating housing and financial resources. In my previous roles, I have provided intensive in-home services to both adults and youth and currently hold the designation of QMHP-A and QMHP-C.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I bring knowledge of individual counseling, group counseling, interviewing, observation, psychotherapy, diagnosis, assessment, and multicultural counseling skills. I look forward to speaking with you about continuing my professional development with your organization. Accepting VA clients.
