In a way, therapy is very simple. We will just sit and talk to each other. On another level, it’s not simple at all. We work together to figure out why you are getting stuck and how to get you un-stuck—a process that takes time and care. I grew up in a male-dominated context (wilderness Alaska, commercial fishing), and have worked with men in jails, universities, small towns, cities, homeless shelters, in the arts, and on the ocean.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I’ve long been passionate about helping men find new paths to meaning, connection, and hope. It isn’t easy for any of us to be human, and men have particular struggles that they often don’t have anyone to talk about.
