Dr. Tanja Ketisch, PsyD

Psychologist
GA
Hi there, I'm Tanja! I am a licensed clinical psychologist. I am well-versed in treating a wide range of mental health concerns. However, my passion is working with individuals who have endured trauma. My approach I have been trained in a range of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation, as well as several brief interventions. My focus I consider my practice open and accepting to all, and I emphasize respect for individual diversity to include sexual, gender, and relational diversity, such as sexual and affectional identity/orientation, transgender issues, and polyamory. My communication style I work with you to explore what we hope to accomplish together. The key is making you feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire process. I listen closely to you and strive to create a “therapeutic alliance” and a positive working relationship. My journey to mental healthcare My path to becoming a therapist was not direct. My initial career started as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. My desire always was to help people. However, after some time in this field, I acknowledged that something was missing - direct patient interaction. With this discovery, I set out to earn my doctorate in psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in Atlanta. My goals for you I aspire to promote a healing environment. My goal is to help my clients to build resilience and to strengthen their relationships. I offer an integrative approach based on your needs resulting in a very individualized treatment. My first session with you Typically, the first session involves exploring your reasons for seeking therapy and gathering your background information. I work with my clients to determine what would be most helpful to them and collaborate on a treatment plan.
