Hello, I'm Terrie. Do you suffer from shame or guilt? Do you battle with low self-esteem or worthlessness? Have you ever been going along when, out of nowhere, your anger or fear goes from zero to ten? I have been helping abused or traumatized individuals who suffer from these issues for several years. As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, I specialize in using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to speed up a healing process that can otherwise take years. Trauma can come from childhood abuse, horrific accidents, spousal betrayal, or perhaps an assault, to name a few. I am also a certified First Responder Counselor, which allows me to provide specialized support to those who have experienced intense trauma in their line of work. Trauma is stored in the body; therefore, I approach healing by teaching you how to self-soothe and build up your resilience. Then, we take a cognitive approach to identify and change the negative thought patterns that fuel your anxiety and depression. EMDR helps reduce those intense emotional responses and shift your perspective on your experiences. You can make the shift from post-traumatic stress disorder to post-traumatic growth. I became a mental health professional to help people find the keys to their own mental prisons. I find immense joy in seeing a person move from hopelessness and despair to living life fully with feelings of hope and peace. My goal is to help you discover, accept, and grow from your life experiences. Now is the time to call and take the first step towards a more peaceful life.
