Tianna Moore, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
Hi, I'm Tianna, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) dedicated to helping adults navigate life's challenges in a supportive and meaningful way. I work with clients experiencing relationship challenges, depression, anxiety, and concerns related to self-esteem, confidence, and identity, as well as personality disorders. Whether you're navigating a difficult life transition or feeling stuck in longstanding patterns, I strive to meet you where you are and support you at a pace that feels right for you. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. My approach is warm, client-centered, and integrative, because every client is unique. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, and others, tailoring treatment to your needs and goals rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method. I hold a Master's degree from SUNY Old Westbury and believe meaningful change begins with trust, curiosity, and self-compassion. Therapy should be a space where you can show up as your authentic self. If you're ready to take that first step, I'd love to connect.

Therapy should be a space where you can show up as your authentic self. If you're ready to take that first step, I'd love to connect.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want you to know that therapy with me is a space where you can show up as your authentic self, without needing to have everything figured out first. I take a warm, client-centered approach, and I see our work as a partnership rather than something I direct. Some clients come in with a specific concern like anxiety, depression, or a relationship that feels stuck, and others simply want to understand themselves better. Both are welcome. I move at a pace that feels right for you, and I place a lot of value on building trust, because I believe that's where meaningful change actually begins.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first few sessions are about getting to know you, what brought you to therapy, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping will feel different. From there, we set goals together, and I check in with you regularly to make sure they still reflect what matters most to you. Because I work integratively, I draw on approaches like ACT, CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and psychodynamic work depending on what fits you and the moment we're in. Along the way we talk openly about what's helping and what isn't, and I adjust as your needs shift. Progress isn't always linear, and my role is to stay curious alongside you through it.
