Tim Flemming, LPCC

Psychotherapist
899 Logan St, Ste 209, Denver, CO
Tim is the owner of Purposeful Directions, LLC. Before starting his own private practice, Tim provided mental health and addiction counseling to individuals and groups. Most of his time was spent serving forensic clients, who were state-mandated to inpatient rehabilitation for a history of felony convictions and serious drug use. Many of them had dual diagnoses, meaning they had mental health issues coinciding with their substance use (which is often the case). Tim relied heavily on various counseling theories including Existential Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy. He became trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) to help treat specific trauma (PTSD) and complex/developmental trauma. The trauma work is probably the most personally rewarding aspect of Tim’s job. Effective treatment can be like cleaning out an old, dusty attic teeming with cobwebs. He has seen clients drastically improve over their time together: becoming brighter, lighter, fuller versions of themselves. In addition to trauma, Tim is proud of his ability to work with most presenting problems. He understands his clients as doing the best they know how. And that no matter what they've been through or what they think of themselves today, greater self-acceptance and change are possible. Tim meets with his clients in-person. His office is in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, southeast of Downtown Denver. All are welcome, and he looks forward to helping you become the best You, you can be.
