Getting to know Timothy Hughes

I believe that with support, we can all become the person we feel we should be. I believe we can find peace in our lives. In our appointments, we will work together toward this peace. You will find a space free from judgment because you are the expert of your own life. As a guide, I will help unlock the locked doors in your life. Sometimes, the process of unlocking these doors might cause discomfort, but behind them, you will find resolution, peace, and contentment. I know making that first appointment can be difficult, but take that leap toward recovery and open that first door. Clear communication is vital in recovery. I have learned Sign Language and am an interpreter with 24 years of experience. If you are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and want counseling in a judgment-free zone with someone who understands you, please reach out. I use a combination of techniques within the frameworks of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, Mindfulness, Trauma-Informed, Strengths-Based, Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, Existential therapy, and others. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Online, with a concentration in Crisis and Trauma Counseling. I have experience working in both In-Patient and Out-Patient mental health settings with a wide range of age groups.
