Getting to know Tyler Mafi

Hi there, I’m Tyler! I am a gay, trans multicultural therapist in NYC. As a queer trans man, I know the importance of finding a therapist who understands and affirms your unique identity and experiences. I work to create an affirming therapy space where you can be unapologetically you. I am passionate about working with clients experiencing social anxiety, loneliness, ambivalence, and apathy, as well as specific challenges related to sex, dating, or career. I also enjoy supporting clients exploring their gender and sexual identities, including those who have recently begun gender transition. In sessions, we will process trauma, connect with your intuition, work to build community, and cultivate coping tools. My goal is to help you get unstuck and feel more fulfilled as you get in the driver’s seat of your life.

Initial session: $200 for 60 minutes

Ongoing session: $150-200 for 50 minutes

Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay

I am currently offering sliding scale spots for clients who are unable to accommodate my full fee. I also provide superbills for clients with Out-of-Network benefits that allow them to receive reimbursement from their insurance company.
