Psychologist
TN
Hi there, I'm Vanessa! Hi! I’m Dr. Vanessa Cirulli, a Clinical Psychologist with a PsyD from John F. Kennedy University and over 10 years of experience providing culturally- and trauma-informed services to individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds. I have a multifaceted approach and, while I have a passion for working with clients with ADHD and co-occurring conditions, I work with clients presenting a variety of mental health needs such as depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, grief and loss, life transitions, self-esteem, and women’s issues. I work from a growth-oriented perspective and believe psychotherapy’s function is to move individuals toward less unnecessary suffering, improved functioning, and greater fulfillment. My approach My theoretical approach considers you first. I believe theory is like a language, and everyone’s languages differ. As I get to know you, we find this language together, tailoring my approach to your therapeutic goals. I was psychodynamically trained, but my work is highly integrative and intuitive. It is evidence- and strengths-based, often drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, family systems, reality therapy, and positive psychology. I use tools such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and Self-Instructional and Stress Inoculation Training. My focus I don’t typically work with any one type of client, but those who report the most success have been open to investigating their patterns and learning new ways to navigate life’s roles and transitions. I welcome and have experience with diversity of all kinds, creatives, and complex trauma. My particular area of interest and expertise is girls and women ages 14-80 who have or suspect they might have ADHD. I bring a unique perspective.
