Getting to know Vanessa Herrera

Should I, what if, then what? These are questions that never get answered. They spin around in your head every waking moment. You know how to "put on for the city" but something is missing. Everyone sees that you've made it, but you're constantly yearning for more. The lists get longer, the hours seem longer, and anxiety keeps knocking at the door. You don’t feel like yourself and aren’t even certain of who you are anymore. You feel lost and overwhelmed at a desk you worked hard to earn. You've made it, and still you're yearning for more. What you want now is to make sense out of nonsense. That chatter has a lot to say, and together, we'll quiet the noise. Using my 20 years of experience and training, I’ll take time to listen and find pathways to lessen your load. We'll catch the thinking patterns that repeat, make sense of the mess, and learn proven ways and strategies you can use in real time to feel good again. Let's break free from the worries together. Feel connected, find your people, and get out of the same ol same ol' that no longer fits. Should I turns into I will. The same ol' same ol' starts sounding like a song you've outgrown. I am here for you, sis. I see you, brother. I can help you show up again. Book a free conversation with me.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I specialize in anxiety and chronic overwhelm in high-achieving individuals—the exhaustion of always feeling like you should be doing more. My approach blends trauma-informed care, CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic therapy to help you understand the deeper patterns beneath the overwhelm. For clients who desire it, biblical principles can also be integrated, with care that honors your culture, faith, and lived experience.

She was a great communicator and listener. I also just wish that we didn’t have to go through the questions for us and just jump in , but that’s just my perspective but everything else was great.

This first appointment was just intake so we haven’t dove in yet. However, she was pleasant, on time, reached out when I couldn’t log in, and I feel I will be comfortable opening up with her. She made me feel relaxed and welcome. I look forward to meeting with her again next week.
