Hello, I'm Venise Darisme, M.A., NCC, CCTP, CMHIMP, LPC, and EDIT Certified I. As a National Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor with SonderMind, I am passionate about helping individuals navigate their mental health journeys. I am also the founder of Brightness in the Rain Counseling Services, LLC, where I strive to bring light and hope to those in need of support. My diverse certifications, including being a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider, allow me to offer a holistic approach to mental health care. My training in integrative medicine emphasizes the importance of nutrition for mental health, and as an EDIT Certified I - Eating Disorder Treatment Clinician, I am equipped to support clients struggling with eating disorders. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University, which was ranked as the #1 Counseling program in Virginia in 2021. Additionally, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology from Mount St. Mary’s University. With over a decade of experience in the Human Services field, I have honed my skills in individual counseling, eating disorder treatment, applied behavior analysis therapy, parent training, education counseling, career counseling, play therapy, pastoral counseling, grief and loss, multicultural issues, substance abuse, depression, and anxiety. I particularly enjoy working with children and families, utilizing a person-centered therapeutic approach while incorporating behavioral, cognitive-behavioral, creative arts, play, and existential techniques. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard and understood.
