I am a passionate and engaging professional counselor dedicated to helping you meet your goals. Finding a counselor can sometimes be intimidating, and my aim is to ease this process for you. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Capella University, which have equipped me with a broad range of knowledge and expertise. Many of my clients typically struggle with PTSD/trauma issues, anxiety/panic, depression, and life transitions. My niche populations include military members and their spouses as they navigate their military life journey. I am also passionate about working with middle-aged women transitioning from their motherhood role into their adult children’s lives, helping them find clarity on their next steps. Additionally, I have expertise and experience in sleep issues, ketamine-assisted therapy, sexual dysfunction or anxiety, LGBTQ+ concerns, and blended family issues.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe that you are the master of your own life, so in therapy, I will give you the reigns to direct where you want to go. I am here for the ride! During your time with me, I will focus on your goals and needs and draw from different evidence-based theories, models, and skills that help us work together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session will be an intake session where we talk about your concerns, goals for therapy, issues that are going on in your life, some background health information, and anything else that might be relevant. After that, we will schedule weekly sessions and evaluate your goals along the way. Some clients want a short-term, solution-focused approach. Other clients want more of a long-term, dynamic approach. I am happy to follow your lead in this.
