Getting to know Virginia Puckett

I provide trauma-informed, identity-affirming therapy to adults who are navigating life transitions, overwhelming emotions, or self-limiting beliefs. I believe that you are the expert on your life and that my role is to support you in moving toward a better sense of self. I work well with chronic worriers, perfectionists, and the highly sensitive. I am especially passionate about working with cycle-breakers. I hold a Master of Education in Counselor Education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, which informs my compassionate and effective approach to therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, body image, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My approach is both direct and gentle; my values of authenticity, compassion, and humor also show through in each session. I am sex positive and fat positive in the work I do, holding space for all identities and abilities in all bodies.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe it is incredibly important to feel connected to your therapist in order to do the vulnerable work of therapy. I provide a free 15 minute consultation to give you the opportunity to ask questions and see if we feel like a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!
