Getting to know Weiyi Jiang

Therapy is a powerful tool for self-discovery and personal growth, not just for mental health disorders. It helps you learn about yourself, explore your past and present, gain resilience, and build meaningful connections. My goal is to create a safe environment where you can delve into your inner world, gain self-awareness, and make meaningful changes that align with your aspirations, guiding you toward a more fulfilling life. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from New York University, which has equipped me with a strong foundation in evidence-based practices. As an Asian therapist, I offer a unique cultural perspective that enriches the therapeutic experience for college students, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people from diverse backgrounds. My holistic approach combines psychodynamic techniques with other evidence-based modalities, utilizing a strength-based and trauma-informed perspective. I work with adults of all ages and have extensive experience addressing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and past traumas across diverse populations. Seeking therapy is a courageous step, and you are not alone. I acknowledge the strength it takes to seek support and am committed to working with you collaboratively and empathetically. Whether you are managing specific mental health concerns or pursuing personal growth, I am here to help you navigate your path to a more rewarding life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I strive to create a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel safe to explore your experiences at your own pace. As a bilingual (English and Mandarin) clinician with an international background, I understand the complexities of navigating cultural identity, life transitions, and relationships in a multicultural context. My approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and trauma-informed care, and I also draw from psychodynamic and strength-based perspectives. I support clients in developing psychological flexibility, increasing self-awareness, and connecting with their core values to guide meaningful change. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, relationship concerns, self-esteem issues, or feeling stuck, we’ll work together to explore your inner experience with curiosity and compassion, helping you move toward a more fulfilling and authentic life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work typically begins with a few sessions focused on getting to know you—your concerns, your history, and your goals. I’ll ask questions to understand what brings you to therapy and how we might best collaborate. From there, therapy becomes an ongoing process of reflection, exploration, and skill-building. I integrate both insight-oriented and experiential work, always guided by your needs and values. My style is thoughtful, relational, and grounded in building a strong therapeutic alliance that supports long-term healing and growth.

I was so anxious before my first session, but after talking to Weiyi I felt like I could breathe again. She’s genuinely kind and makes everything feel safe and easy to talk about.
Weiyi is very flexible and thoughtful. At times I got anxious or overwhelmed, but I never felt embarrassed or uncomfortable. Working with her put me at ease.
Went to Soho Therapy feeling like a scrambled egg — left feeling slightly more like a functioning human. Jiang has an amazing bedside manner: warm, calm, and somehow knows exactly what to say (and what not to). 10/10 would trust her with my chaotic energy again.
It was a safe place and I felt comfortable to share my thoughts to her. She supported me to explore about the importance of being mentally stable.
She is Great. She really cares. Makes it easy to open up. Very understanding and really gives you a safe space to express yourself. One of the best.
she was just starting out and so was I, it was my first real therapy session. She was very good at listening, but also talking and giving back good feedback. I appreciate that she was upfront about her lack of experience with this but also being able to talk to me on somewhat of a personal level. She gave me a positive experience with therapy, which I find helpful for maybe trying therapy more in depth
