Hi there, I'm Whitney. My practice and process are centered around the idea that everyone has struggles, and no one's struggles are greater than anyone else's; they are simply different. No one has a perfect life, but everyone has the ability to grow and change to make things more comfortable. We all work to do our best for ourselves and our loved ones. Sometimes our best-laid plans don't turn out how we'd hoped, and those are the times when compassionate guidance is so important. No two people handle feelings of anxiety or depression in the same way, and the solutions that work for one person may not work for another. That is why I focus on clients' individuality, their history, their present, and their goals for the future. With that knowledge, we can work together to decide what the best plan of action is for you. I have been a counselor, a teacher, and a life and career coach. This work has allowed me to see people grow and change, and seeing that has truly humbled me. I have worked in human services with children, adults, and families. I have had the honor of serving people and being allowed into their lives in very personal and vulnerable ways. I work in a talk-therapy model most of the time. Narrative therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused practices are the best ways that I have found to engage with people and affect positive change. Thank you for considering me as someone you may want to work with. More importantly, I want you to be proud of yourself for seeking guidance in a difficult time. The decision to do so is not easy, but I've seen the benefits of it, and I know the power and confidence that clients can gain from this type of experience.
