Wing Bui, LICSW

Psychotherapist
DC
I am trained in anti-oppressive, trauma-informed therapy and yoga, which supports my holistic approach to care, integrating mindfulness, somatic embodiment, and spirituality. My work centers queer people of color and adult children of immigrants through grief, intergenerational and attachment trauma, and cultural identity exploration. My approach I believe in the co-creation of the therapeutic space with compassion, curiosity, and creativity. I ask guided questions to help build a sense of mutual trust, respect, and foster a sense of safety. I uplift vulnerability and the importance of rest and moments for play and joy within and between sessions. My focus Are you struggling to navigate the oppressive state of the world while connecting deeper with your sense of self? I approach care with a holistic lens, meaning there is space to express, unpack, and process the overall chaos of the world, and encouragement for you to focus on what feels important to you. I work with people of color, LGBTQ+, and adult children of immigrants to access more of their authentic selves by viewing their intersectional identity as strength, while healing from generational and racial wounds, inherited stories, and socially conditioned beliefs. My communication style I prioritize clear, open communication to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment. I practice active listening and will invite opportunities for you to reflect on your experiences. If we’re working through something challenging, you can expect me to offer a warm, compassionate, and curious space to feel seen, witnessed, and grounded. My goals for you I support clients through their personal goals, establishing a strong sense of community care, and connecting with a closer relationship with their most authentic selves.
