Getting to know Yashvi Italiya
As a therapist, I aim to provide a space free of judgment and full of empathy, compassion, and support tailored to individual needs. I believe that therapy is not about getting answers from outside but rather finding them from within. I focus on connecting with my clients to identify challenges, develop therapeutic goals, find strategies to manage the issues, and walk on the path leading to self-discovery and self-actualization. I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University Brooklyn and a Bachelor’s degree from Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), which have equipped me with a strong foundation to support my clients effectively.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My approach to therapy is person centered with a combination of evidence -based intervention. One can expect to have a comfortable platform to express vulnerability and find the strength in it instead of being judged. I attempt to provide strategies and resources that one can use outside of our sessions to foster self reliance and self worth. I make sure my clients are heard and seen. Additionally, I regularly have training and use feedback from supervisors for personal and professional development to ensure credibility and reliability.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
In the first session I will complete an intake assessment to gather as much information to better assess and get to know you, your history, and what concerns have brought you to therapy and therefore set up goals. The following sessions, we will engage in talk therapy while pulling from various modalities to help you achieve your goals. Our sessions are 45 min in length on a weekly basis.
Please allow 15 minutes before the session to do the intake paperwork.
