About Dr. Ronald Cox
Dr. Ronald Cox is an allergist treating patients in the Austin and greater Texas areas. In addition to his private practice, he has served as an allergist for the U.S. Air Force. He holds certification from the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and is a member of professional organizations including the Joint Council of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology and the American College of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology.
For his undergraduate degree, Dr. Cox attended Sterling College in Kansas, graduating cum laude. He pursued his medical degree at the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine. At Mt. Carmel Medical Center, Dr. Cox completed both an internship in general surgery and a residency program focused on the study of medicine. He followed these programs with two fellowships at the Willford Hall Medical Center, where he specialized in immunology.

Dismissive of symptoms, no attempt whatsoever to treat symptoms before sending me off to another provider. Sent a referral for labs without telling me I’d need another person with me for a dual blood draw.

I would highly recommend Dr. Cox. I did my research prior to setting my appointment with him, and I’m so glad I chose him. I had an allergic reaction to an injection in his office. He acted very quickly and was constantly checking up on me after treatment. Once everything was back to normal, he released me. Approximately 2 hours after I was released, he called to check up on me. I believe Dr. Cox went above and beyond my expectations, and I would highly recommend him. I believe my healthcare is going to be well addressed by choosing Dr. Cox as my allergist.

Dr. Cox was great! He listened to my concerns and found out what was causing my allergies and how to feel better. The only thing was getting my first appointment through phone was impossible and the receptionist wasn’t friendly at all so I had to go in person and I got my appointment, the receptionist was nicer in person.

This was not a good fit for us. Dr. Cox asked a lot of questions to figure out what could be causing our son’s skin issues but didn’t really explain what was causing it. He just said we were doing everything right, which clearly wasn’t helping if we made an appointment and our son’s skin was still flared up. He seemed to want to get out as fast as possible. Once he was done asking questions he listed out some creams to use and tried to leave immediately. We tried asking questions but he crept closer and closer to the door with every response.
The staff was super friendly. I loved how personable they were with the clients.

The staff was professional and punctual. I found the nurse very friendly and patient with my children. Her temperament was calm, and she explained every procedure. Dr. Cox was professional, kind, and extremely knowledgeable in his field. He asked my children about their health, provided tips, and encouraged them to stay on task regarding their wellness.

Dr. Cox was a great listener and asked good questions. I felt comfortable talking to him over Zoom. The office contacted me before the appointment to fill out my New Patient Paperwork (and thank goodness because it is 14 pages long). I had a little bit of trouble finding the correct link to join at the time of the appointment because it got lost in my email amongst the multiple emails that were sent to me by ZocDoc. The front desk staff emailed me another one and everything went smoothly after that. Very friendly people.

I finally decided to see an allergist (last October), with cedar season imminent. I know many people who either receive allergy shots or drops and they are very happy with them. As for Dr. Cox, he is very friendly and professional. However, after 3 appointments and three co-pays, all I was given was advice -which I could easily find on the internet, (and inhalers, which I'm still not sure how relate to cedar pollen allergies). I was also asked numerous times to breath into a machine, which I didn't mind, until I received a bill in the mail for a mouthpiece. Really!?
So now I have suffered through another cedar season...Thank goodness grocery stores have over the counter allergy medications....

My first visit with Dr. Cox was very pleasant. I wasn't able to get the skin test done since I had taken allergy medicine prior to my visit, but he still took time to do what he could to access my allergies. He really made sure my visit to him was worth it, and also worth coming back to. I look forward to seeing Dr. Cox in a couple weeks, not so much for the skin test, but just so he can help me and my struggling allergies.

great experience. made an appointment yesterday and was able to get in the next day at 10:15. i had to fill out a lot of paperwork beforehand but that is standard procedure for anyplace. after the paperwork was done, my appmt started immediately.
dr. cox and the nurse did a great job and were very thorough. i feel better already.
