Dmitri Kolpacoff, MS, MBA

Psychotherapist
CA
I'm a licensed Associate Professional Clinical Counselor providing 100% virtual therapy through Pacific Mental Health Services. I work under the supervision of a licensed clinician and I'm pursuing my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision with a focus on telehealth. I believe therapy should fit into your life, not the other way around. That's why I practice exclusively online. No commute, no waiting room, just focused time to work on what matters to you. My approach is CBT, psychodynamic, solution-focused, reality therapy, and DBT. I work with patients dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, substance use, career counseling, relationships, and friendships.

Getting to know Dmitri Kolpacoff

I'm a licensed Associate Professional Clinical Counselor providing 100% virtual therapy through Pacific Mental Health Services. I work under the supervision of a licensed clinician and I'm pursuing my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision with a focus on telehealth. I believe therapy should fit into your life, not the other way around. That's why I practice exclusively online. No commute, no waiting room, just focused time to work on what matters to you. I work with patients dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, substance use, career counseling, relationships, and friendships.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use a mix of CBT, DBT, ACT, and psychodynamic approaches, and I adjust based on what you need session to session. Some patients want structure and homework every week. Others need space to think out loud first. I run both modes for real, not as a default answer. You tell me what works and we build from there. Your first session is an intake. We cover your history and current situation, but the bigger goal is figuring out what you want out of therapy. That shapes everything after. If you're looking for practical tools you can actually use, not just a place to vent, that's where I focus.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Sessions start with an intake to understand your history and what brought you in. After that we build a plan based on what you need, whether that's structured work with homework between sessions or more open exploration depending on what's going on that week. Most sessions run 50 to 60 minutes. I check in on progress toward what you told me you want out of therapy, then we work on whatever is most relevant that day. This is talk therapy, not medication management.
