About Dr. William Carter
Dr. Carter, a native of Oklahoma, comes from a family of dentists and physicians. Growing up watching his distinguished father take care of the community as a dentist helped shape him and his older sister, as he became a General Dentist like his father and she became a renowned oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
Dr. Carter always enjoyed playing sports. He not only benefited from the great examples of his family growing up, but also from the dedication, leadership and other skills sports taught him. In high school, he won the Oklahoma State Championship in golf. While at the University, Dr. Carter competed on the collegiate level as part of the University’s golf team. He then received his dental training at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. After dental school, Dr. Carter furthered his studies by completing a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEDG) residency in Waco, TX. He then began his dental career in New York, where he practiced for 5 years, furthering his exposure to innovative dentistry before returning home to Florida.
Dentistry is his passion and Dr. Carter continues to stay on top of the cutting edge of dentistry and technology in order to provide his patients with the highest quality of care. He also takes great pride in ensuring each and every patient at Premier Smiles has the most positive experience possible and maintains a “patient-centered” philosophy to dental treatment. Dr. Carter is an active member of the American Academy of Clear Aligners, the American Dental Association, the National Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association.
In his free time, Dr. Carter enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, working out, watching movies, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.
