I had my first appointment with Dr. Suarez and he was amazing. He took his time and spent a good amount of time with me. He is great with OMM/OMT and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend him.

It was my first visit and only a "get to know you". I was sufficiently impressed with Dr. Dellosso and his office that I've made an appointment for a complete physical. Overall, the experience was a very positive one.

Dr Peters is very knowledgeable but seems timid sometimes and I don't always trust her diagnosis as she seems young and not always assertive with her thoughts. For the most part she seems knowledgeable but the associates in the office who you meet with beforehand to take your vitals, and the front desk staff seem very unorganized every time I'm there. I've been multiple times and they seem to have gotten worse over the past 3 years. The main issue is that I feel like Dr Peters is administering to many tests (i.e blood work, EKG, ultra-sound) and not asking enough investigative questions to really get to the bottom of the issue.

Dr. Chien has good bedside manner. He takes time to hear your concerns, and we talked through a lot of different holistic lifestyle factors that I had on my mind. Punctual office, with no wait.

Everything was great and I was warmly welcomed. I thought I would see a female doctor, it was a male doctor. I believe they are partners within the place, but overall I was well taken care of pretty quickly. It was only a annual physical. Any concerns I had was definitely heard and taken care of.

I have been a patient of this practice ever since they started their practice in the Harbourside space. Both the doctors are good and have pleasing bedside manners. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for their front desk staff who are often rude and dismissive. Which is why zoc doc is a blessing because I don’t have to talk to them at all then. I do wish their front desk staff was better trained in dealing with queries from patients but other than that I recommend the doctors

Always happy with Dr. Cohen and his staff. I only wish that when I made the appointment online for my annual physical there was a disclaimer that those now only occur between 10a-1p. My original appointment was scheduled for 2:30p and accepted as such weeks in advance. Only found out the day before that this would not be allowed and had to completely upend my schedule to accommodate this new policy.

Jersey City Primary Care Doctors

Primary care physicians, commonly known as PCPs, are trained in providing the first point of care for people with undiagnosed health issues not limited to any one organ or specialty. They are trained in health promotion, disease prevention, counseling, patient education and management of both acute and chronic illnesses. Often, they collaborate with another specialist by way of referrals and consultations to provide care to patients. They tend to encourage effective communication with their patients to make them partners in their health management. They can either hold a doctor of medicine (MD) or doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) degree as their medical degrees, and they usually pursue a postgraduate residency in internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics or gynecology.

Internist vs. family physician

  • Both internists and family physicians are responsible for providing primary care to their patients, however, there are some crucial differences between these two types of doctors. Knowing this distinction can help you choose the right doctor for your healthcare needs.
  • A key differentiator between the two is the type of patients both doctors choose to see. Internists tend to focus on diseases affecting adults, while a family physician is skilled at addressing issues faced by all of your family members, including children.
  • Another difference is in the duties that both of these types of practitioners carry out. Though not a rule, generally internists tend to focus on issues having greater complexity when compared to family physicians. While internists provide in-patient care in hospital settings or their clinics, family physicians are more likely to focus on preventative care.
